I like this post by Seth Godin...
It reminds me that we don't have to be perfect in our services and programming in the church, but we do have to be interesting. In the words of Chip & Dan Heath (authors of Made to Stick), one of the keys to making a message stick in the minds and hearts of people is that it should be unexpected (i.e. interesting).
What we do should have people talking... not about us but about Jesus Christ.

Your last sentence is the clincher, do the people leave talking about the cool use of video/ music and light or do they leave talking about Jesus? I worry about the Disney-zation of worship and church that appeals to people too much in need of new programming. Be interesting but Be Christ Interesting.
